Abstract N‐β‐Methacryloyloxyethyl derivatives of uracil, thymine, theophylline, 2‐chloro‐6‐methlpurine, and adenine were prepared by the reaction of the corresponding N‐hyddroxyethyl compounds with methacryloyl chloride. The polymerization of these new vinyl monomers was carried out.
