The entity denotes a pathologic condition the cardinal features of which are fibromuscular induration of the pulmonary interstitial tissue and extreme dilatation of the alveoli and terminal bronchioles. This picture has been described in chronic pneumonitis by Davidsohn,1Kaufmann2and Ravenna, von Buhl and Lenart (as reported by von Stossel3); in syphilitic interstitial pneumonitis by Tanaka; in chronic passive congestion...Bibliography1.
