Abstract

Bilirubin and CRP are markers of perforation in appendicitis, but are not accurate enough to be diagnostic. In a patient with high clinical suspicion of acute appendicitis, a raised CRP and bilirubin suggests that a patient is not suitable for conservative treatment.
