Faculty Survey on Library Research Instruction.

Abstract

A survey of more than two hundred faculty in the social sciences and humanities was conducted at York University in March 1992. Findings confirm that faculty recognize the importance of BI, or library research instruction, and the need to improve students' library research skills across all disciplines surveyed. Significant differences among de partments were revealed in the types of library research instruction preferred, providing insight into how librarians could proceed with maximum faculty support.
