Antioxidative effects of 123 extracts (Direct methanolic and sequential per ether, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, methanol) prepared from 32 plants species (59 plant samples) collected from Tripura, Northeast India have been studied. Their ability of scavenging free radicals was measured by DPPH reduction spectrophotometric assay. Sixteen extracts showed strong antioxidant capabilities, which were, subjected for their dose dependent activity at different concentrations to calculate IC 50 values.
