Abstract

Time (hr.) Fig. The artificial rumen containing 55 ml. of strained rumen contents was given 1 g. of the diet at F: A, unsaturated C18 acids; 0, stearic acid. A control experiment (no feeding) was also carried out: A, unsatur- ated C18 acids; 0, stearic acid. similar course of events, with the slow hydrogena- tion of the unsaturated C18 acids occurring at an almost identical rate.
