Wave-induced Circulation
Wave-Induced Circulation is a large-scale fluid motion arising in the mean flow of a geophysical fluid system as a direct consequence of the momentum and energy transfer from propagating waves through wave-mean flow interactions, distinguished from other circulations by its origin in nonlocal wave forcing and its role in modulating the background flow structure.
