Wake Fraction

Wake Fraction is the dimensionless hydrodynamic coefficient representing the ratio of the difference between the ship’s forward speed and the average axial inflow velocity into the propeller disk to the ship’s forward speed, used to quantify the reduction in effective flow velocity due to the hull-induced wake field in marine propeller propulsion systems.
