Transient Maneuvering

Transient Maneuvering is a dynamic performance characteristic in marine propulsion systems that denotes the time-varying response of a vessel’s motion and propeller behavior during rapid changes in pitch angle under non-steady operating conditions, distinguishing it from steady-state maneuvering analyses by explicitly accounting for inertial and hydrodynamic transient effects in controllable-pitch propeller operation.
