Tragic Parody
Tragic Parody is a dramatic genre belonging to ancient Greek satyr play that recontextualizes mythological narratives and heroic ideals from tragedy through irony, mock-heroic elements, and comic inversion, thereby distinguishing itself by juxtaposing the solemnity of tragic themes with the irreverent tone and rustic humor characteristic of satyr drama.
