Testimonial Documentary

Testimonial Documentary is a documentary form that belongs to the genre of postcolonial cinema in which subjective, first-person narratives of marginalized or oppressed individuals serve as evidentiary and moral testimony to historical injustices, thereby distinguishing it from observational or expository documentary modes through its epistemological privileging of personal lived experience as a form of counter-hegemonic knowledge production.
