Target-domain Representation

Target-Domain Representation is a conceptual construct in visual metaphor theory that denotes the visual or symbolic encoding of the target domain—the abstract or less familiar concept to be understood—within a metaphorical representation, distinguishing it from the source-domain elements by mapping its attributes through visual resemblance, structural alignment, or contextual cues to facilitate interpretative transfer.
