Swath Bathymetry

Swath Bathymetry is a hydrographic surveying technique that belongs to the class of seafloor mapping methods and is distinguished by its use of multibeam echosounders to simultaneously measure water depth across a wide, fan-shaped swath beneath a moving vessel, thereby enabling high-resolution, continuous topographic imaging of the deep-sea floor.
