Surface Crusts

Surface Crusts is a type of diagenetic soil microstructure formed at the soil-atmosphere interface characterized by the in situ physical reorganization and cementation of fine particles due to precipitation impact, wetting-drying cycles, and biological activity, resulting in a dense, low-porosity layer that modifies infiltration, erosion, and pedogenic processes.
