Streaming Potential

Streaming potential is an electrokinetic phenomenon that arises when an electrolyte fluid flows through a charged porous medium or capillary system, generating an electrical potential difference due to the displacement of the electric double layer’s mobile counterions, distinguishing it from other electrokinetic effects by its origin in pressure-driven flow-induced charge separation.
