Strain-promoted Cycloaddition

Strain-Promoted Cycloaddition is a type of cycloaddition reaction in which the driving force for the [3+2] or [4+2] cycloaddition between a strained alkene or alkyne and a complementary dipolar or π-system partner arises predominantly from the release of ring strain, obviating the need for a metal catalyst.
