Stern Model

The Stern Model is a theoretical framework in electrochemistry that belongs to the class of double-layer models by partitioning the electrical double layer into an inner Stern layer, where ions are specifically adsorbed onto the electrode surface, and an outer diffuse layer governed by electrostatic interactions, thereby distinguishing it from earlier models by incorporating finite ion size and specific adsorption effects.
