Double-layer Structure

Double-Layer Structure is a fundamental interfacial configuration in electrochemistry consisting of two adjacent layers of opposite electrical charges that form at the boundary between an electrode and an electrolyte, where the genus is an electrically charged interface and the differentia is the specific arrangement of immobilized surface charges on the electrode and their counterbalancing layer of ions in the electrolyte.
