Status Inconsistency

Status Inconsistency is a sociological construct that refers to the condition in which an individual occupies discrepant positions across multiple dimensions of social stratification, such as holding high status on one dimension (e.g., occupation) while having low status on another (e.g., education or income), leading to ambiguity in overall social standing within group hierarchies.
