Static Stability
Static Stability is a stability property of a physical system in equilibrium that describes, for infinitesimal instantaneous perturbations from that equilibrium, whether the resultant restoring variables (such as buoyant or aerodynamic forces and moments) initially act to return the system toward its original state, leave it unchanged, or drive it further away, without reference to the subsequent time evolution of the motion.
