Special Limitations is a legal doctrine within the framework of defeasible fees that restricts the duration of a fee simple estate by automatically terminating the estate upon the occurrence of a specified event or condition, thereby distinguishing it from other future interest devices by its inherent temporal and conditional annexation to the possessory estate.
