Social Infrastructure is a foundational category of physical and institutional structures that facilitate and sustain social interaction, community cohesion, and collective well-being within the built environment, distinguished from purely functional or economic infrastructure by its primary orientation toward fostering relational networks, civic engagement, and place-based social capital in the context of placemaking.
