Sedimentation Potential
Sedimentation Potential is an electrokinetic phenomenon constituting an electric potential that arises when charged colloidal particles move under gravitational or centrifugal force through a stationary liquid medium, thereby inducing a relative motion between the surface charge of the particles and the surrounding counterion cloud, distinguishing it from other electrokinetic effects by its origin in particle sedimentation rather than applied electric fields or fluid flow.
