Role Accumulation is the process by which an individual sequentially acquires and integrates multiple socially defined adult roles, such as worker, parent, or caregiver, within the life course, distinguished from related role transition concepts by its focus on the quantitative expansion and co-occurrence of roles rather than their alteration or relinquishment.
