Retrogressive Failure

Retrogressive Failure is a type of submarine landslide mechanism characterized by the sequential upslope retreat of failure surfaces, wherein initial slope instability at a downslope location triggers progressive detachment of material in an upslope direction, distinguishing it from other slope failure mechanisms by its distinctive landward propagation through time.
