Reconstruction Transitions

Reconstruction Transitions is a type of surface phase transition in which the rearrangement of atoms at a crystal surface leads to a change in the surface's structural symmetry without altering the bulk crystal structure, distinguishing it from other surface transitions by involving a reconfiguration of surface atomic positions into a thermodynamically favored reconstruction.
