Rainbow Table Attacks

Rainbow Table Attack is a precomputation-based password cracking technique that uses a time-memory trade-off to reverse cryptographic hash functions by employing a precomputed table of hash chains, distinguished from other dictionary or brute-force attacks by its use of reduction functions to compress and efficiently retrieve potential plaintext passwords corresponding to given hash values.
