Purine Biosynthesis

Purine Biosynthesis is a de novo anabolic pathway in nucleotide metabolism that constructs the purine ring system on a phosphoribose backbone through a series of enzyme-catalyzed reactions, distinguished from salvage pathways by its reliance on one-carbon units and amino group donors to build the purine structure from simple precursors.
