Puppet Animation is a mode of animated performance in which articulated puppets are sequentially manipulated and filmed frame by frame to create the illusion of autonomous movement, distinguishing it from live puppetry and other forms of animation through its synthesis of three-dimensional puppetry with stop-motion cinematographic techniques.
