Propeller-structure Interaction Noise

Propeller-Structure Interaction Noise is a type of hydroacoustic noise generated by the dynamic coupling between the unsteady hydrodynamic forces produced by a ship's propeller and the structural response of nearby hull components, distinguished from other ship-radiated noises by its origin in the mutual interaction between propeller-induced flow fields and the flexibility or geometry of the adjacent vessel structures.
