Project Finance

Project finance is a specialized methodological approach to financing large-scale, capital-intensive projects wherein the primary source of debt repayment and equity return is the project's generated cash flow, rather than the balance sheets of the project sponsors. As an academic concept and research field, it investigates the intricate financial structures, risk allocation strategies, complex contractual arrangements, and governance mechanisms essential for the successful development and operation of standalone ventures, enabling investment in critical infrastructure and industrial assets by distributing risks and leveraging project-specific economics.
