Positive Operator-valued Measures

Positive Operator-Valued Measures is a mathematical framework in quantum theory that generalizes the standard description of quantum measurements by assigning to each measurable outcome a positive semi-definite operator on a Hilbert space, such that the sum of all operators over the outcome space is the identity operator, thereby enabling a complete probabilistic interpretation within the density matrix formalism.
