Density Matrix Formalism

Density Matrix Formalism is an operator-based mathematical framework in quantum mechanics that generalizes the state description of quantum systems to include statistical ensembles and mixed states, distinguishing itself from pure state representations by accommodating classical uncertainty and decoherence through the use of a positive semi-definite Hermitian operator with unit trace.
