Point Spread Function Modeling

Point Spread Function Modeling is a computational and mathematical framework in astrometric and imaging sciences that characterizes the spatial response of an optical or detector system to a point source by modeling the diffraction, aberration, and noise processes that determine the observed image profile, distinguishing it from general image formation models through its focus on system-specific and environment-induced blurring mechanisms.
