Phase Noise

Phase Noise is a spectral measure of the stochastic fluctuations in the phase of a periodic signal, distinct from amplitude noise, that quantifies the short-term frequency instability of oscillators and waveform generators in the frequency domain, particularly critical in the performance evaluation of microwave oscillators, MEMS resonators, and analog electronic devices where signal purity and timing precision are paramount.
