Payment Pattern Modeling is a statistical methodology in loss reserving that characterizes the temporal distribution of insurance claim payments by modeling the timing and size of future cash flows relative to reported incidents, distinguishing it from aggregate reserving techniques through its focus on the stochastic development process of individual or grouped payments over time.
