Partial Coherence Transfer Function

The Partial Coherence Transfer Function is a generalized optical transfer function that characterizes the spatial frequency response of an imaging system under partially coherent illumination by incorporating both the amplitude and phase variations of the mutual coherence of light, thereby distinguishing it from fully coherent or incoherent transfer functions through its dependence on the degree and structure of coherence in the illumination.
