Pair-rule Gene Patterning
Pair-Rule Gene Patterning is a developmental genetic mechanism that establishes segmental organization in the early embryo by regulating the expression of downstream segment-polarity genes in a periodic, two-segment-wide pattern, thereby differentiating contiguous embryonic segments along the anterior-posterior axis through the spatially restricted activation of transcription factors encoded by pair-rule genes.
