Opportunistic Communications

Opportunistic communications is a research field and networking paradigm focused on developing strategies and protocols that exploit intermittent, unpredictable, and transient connectivity among devices. It investigates methods to enable data exchange and network services in environments where stable end-to-end paths are unavailable or unreliable, often leveraging the mobility of nodes and store-carry-forward mechanisms to bridge connectivity gaps and utilize resources as they become temporarily accessible.
