Nonhearsay Statements

Nonhearsay Statements is a category of out-of-court assertions that, within the framework of the hearsay rule, fall outside the definition of hearsay because their evidentiary purpose does not depend on the truth of the asserted content, thereby permitting their admission for non-assertoric uses such as showing notice, effect on the listener, or the fact of utterance itself.
