Microglia-mediated Synaptic Plasticity

Microglia-Mediated Synaptic Plasticity is a biological mechanism by which microglial cells actively regulate synaptic strength, connectivity, and neural circuit remodeling through contact-dependent signaling, phagocytic pruning of synapses, and release of neuroactive molecules, thereby distinguishing it from other forms of synaptic plasticity that are primarily neuron-autonomous.
