Matthean Redaction

Matthean Redaction is a scholarly method in biblical criticism that identifies and analyzes the distinctive theological, literary, and structural modifications made by the evangelist Matthew in his compilation and adaptation of source materials, particularly the Gospel of Mark and the Q source, to articulate a uniquely Matthean Christian narrative and doctrine.
