Matrix Acidizing

Matrix acidizing is a reservoir stimulation technique involving the injection of reactive fluid, typically acid, into porous rock formations to selectively dissolve mineral constituents, thereby increasing permeability in the near-wellbore region and enhancing hydrocarbon recovery efficiency without fracturing the formation. This methodological approach investigates the chemical reactions between the acid and rock, the resulting alteration of pore structure and flow paths, and the optimization of treatment parameters for improved well productivity.
