Mask Performance

Mask Performance is a mode of theatrical expression within the broader domain of performance studies wherein performers embody character and narrative through the use of a mask as the primary means of non-verbal communication, distinguished from other forms of performance by the mask’s function in mediating identity, restricting facial visibility, and redirecting expressive focus to gesture, movement, and vocal projection.
