Lis Pendens

Lis Pendens is a conflict-of-laws procedural doctrine by which a court seised of a dispute is required to stay or decline proceedings when an action involving the same parties, cause of action, and object is already pending before another competent court, in order to prevent parallel litigation and inconsistent decisions.
