Lipid Deacylation

Lipid Deacylation is a biochemical process in which fatty acyl chains are hydrolytically removed from the glycerol backbone of lipid molecules, distinguishing it from other lipid remodeling mechanisms by its specific cleavage of ester-linked acyl groups at the sn-1 or sn-2 positions of glycerophospholipids.
