Irregular Wave Transformation

Irregular Wave Transformation is a hydrodynamic process model that describes the spatial evolution of stochastic wave spectra in shallow water due to nonlinear interactions, bottom friction, and depth-induced breaking, distinguishing it from regular wave transformation by its treatment of wave fields as broadband, random, and directionally spread.
