Intron Phase

Intron Phase is a structural classification of an intron defined by the position of its intervening sequence relative to the codon reading frame of the host gene, specifically categorized as phase 0, 1, or 2 based on whether it lies between, one or two nucleotides downstream of a codon boundary, thereby determining the offset of exon joining during splicing.
