Intergenic Sequence Evolution

Intergenic Sequence Evolution is the evolutionary process by which noncoding DNA sequences located between genes accumulate genetic changes over time, distinguished from other modes of molecular evolution by its focus on mutational dynamics, selective pressures, and functional constraints acting specifically on regions devoid of protein-coding genes.
