Indigenous Knowledge Systems

Indigenous Knowledge Systems is a culturally embedded, cumulative system of knowledge, practices, and beliefs developed and sustained by Indigenous peoples through long-term, place-based interactions with their lands and waters, transmitted primarily through oral and experiential means, and integrating ecological, social, and spiritual understandings to govern relationships between humans, other beings, and the environment.
